[ Almond Orchard Initiative Blossoms in Bhussinga: 250 Saplings Planted for Sustainable Agriculture ]

Nepal Evergreen has facilitated the planting of 250 almond tree saplings in Bhussinga, located an 8-hour drive from Kathmandu. Farmer Dabal Bahadur Basne collected the two-year-old saplings from a nursery in Kathmandu and led the planting effort with assistance from villagers.

Dable, inspired by his ancestors’ commitment to land conservation, has dedicated himself to reforesting his family’s 3,700-acre terraced farmland, including planting over 3,000 kiwi trees over the last three years, with the help of Nepal Evergreen. His farming practices, which prioritize organic and sustainable methods, have earned recognition and awards.

The newly planted almond trees are expected to yield fruit within two years, contributing to Basne’s vision of a thriving, eco-friendly agricultural enterprise in Nepal. His next objective is to plant 5,000 tea saplings, with the support of Nepal Evergreen. You can help support this initiative : link in bio

Emergency Appeal for Nepal Earthquake Victims

In November 2023, a catastrophic 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck Jajarkot District, Karnali Province, Nepal, claiming 153 lives and injuring over 375, including children. Survivors are enduring freezing temperatures in makeshift shelters. Initially, temporary relief was provided, but now the focus is on building permanent shelters for 200 families. The Juniper Trust, with Suman Pandey and dedicated volunteers in Kathmandu, aims to raise $3,000 to construct the 10 shelters, accommodating 10 or more families. We're thrilled to share another milestone achieved by Juniper Trust in 2023! 🎉
✨ 2 CLASSROOMS REPAIRED IN MAILI SCHOOL ✨
In November 2022, Maili School became the 19th school rebuilt by Juniper Trust, marking a remarkable achievement with the support of the first Western volunteers to return to Nepal since the pandemic. However, the journey didn't end there. Two classrooms in the main building had endured seven years of damage post-earthquake, remaining exposed to the elements with missing walls and a leaking roof.
🏫 In 2023, Juniper Trust successfully raised £3,500 for our dedicated team in Nepal to repair the two classrooms, bringing hope and another positive change to the Maili School community.

The Juniper Trust is thrilled to announce that, in November 2023, we achieved our goal of rebuilding 20 schools since the earthquake in 2015. This incredible journey has witnessed the reconstruction of 20 schools as well, providing furniture and teacher/learning aids and ensuring every student has the school uniforms and essential equipment they need to thrive. This journey has been nothing short of incredible, positively impacting the lives of over 2,000 children in remote villages of Nepal.

A REQUEST FOR HELP IN 2024
As Juniper Trust continues its commitment to these schools, the aim is to raise £10,000 in 2024 to help provide basic essentials such as furniture, internet access, basic PCs, whiteboards, notebooks, pens, pencils, and more. Additionally, there is a request for £5,000 to renovate an abandoned classroom at Uma Kunda School into a kitchen/dining area to prepare and provide food for the children while at school, the food will be donated by the villagers. You can help us achieve this goal and help the children at these schools.
