Why this project needed our help
In 2006, The Bagsu Nag School in Dharamshala requested the building of an additional room at their school. A further request for a small kitchen to prepare lunchtime meals for the pupils was also put forward, as food had hitherto been prepared amongst the desks and chairs of the classroom, providing daily disruption to teaching.
How Juniper Trust helped
With help from Loughborough Grammar School, £1000 was raised to fund the project and a team from Loughborough visited in October 2006, where they helped either whitewash walls or facilitate art and sports activities. On departure, the UK students presented Bagsu Nag School with arts materials and sports equipment.
What difference has been made?
The school continues to thrive and The Juniper Trust has received no further requests for donations. In 2019, we plan to contact all of our previous Indian projects, to see how they are progressing and to see what further help can be given.
