Founded in 2011 and currently housing and caring for 17 children, Karama Kids home for children provides family life, quality education and medical care. The Juniper Trust has supported Hayley and her fundraising efforts since 2014. Some of the children are HIV+ and the money raised helps to pay for medicine, clinic and hospital expenses, medical supplies, and transport to and from appointments as well as providing furniture, clothing and help with day to day running costs.
At the beginning of 2021 Hayley went to Tanzania to volunteer at Karama for three months and is delighted to report that all the kids are healthy and doing well, four girls from Karama are now attending University.
For over six years Karama has been searching for one of the boy’s mother and in July of this year they succeeded in finding her, this is obviously wonderful news for Dickson, who is 13 years old.
