Why this project needed our help?

In 2010, heavy monsoon rains in the Northern Areas of Pakistan caused major flooding that destroyed much of Leh, the trekking capital of Ladakh in Northern India. As a result, hundreds of deaths were unaccounted for, and many homes and agricultural lands were lost.

To help the flood victims, the Juniper Trust raised £3500. Clothes and heaters were purchased to help villagers survive the winter, and rebuilding began as soon as the weather permitted.

The Juniper Trust used the donations to purchase door frames for five houses, costing approximately £500 per house. The project has been successfully completed, and no further donations are currently required. The Juniper Trust would like to express gratitude to Rimo Expeditions, with whom they have a long history of collaborating on projects in Ladakh.
