BAGSU NAG SCHOOL, DHARAMSHALA

Why this project needed our help?

The Bagsu Nag School in Dharamshala requested the building of an additional room at their school in 2006, along with a small kitchen to prepare lunchtime meals for the pupils. Food had been previously prepared amongst the desks and chairs of the classroom, causing disruption to teaching.

With the help of Loughborough Grammar School, £1000 was raised to fund the project. A team from Loughborough visited in October 2006 and helped either whitewash walls or facilitate art and sports activities. On departure, the UK students presented Bagsu Nag School with arts materials and sports equipment.

The school has continued to thrive, and The Juniper Trust has not received any further requests for donations. In 2019, the trust plans to contact all of its previous Indian projects to see how they are progressing and determine what further help can be given.
